According to a blog post dated July 15, 2021 by the Intuit Blog Team, Intuit, the maker of TurboTax, QuickBooks, ProSeries, and Lacerte tax software will no longer participate in the IRS Free File program after the conclusion of the current tax season in October. The IRS Free File program makes free online tax preparation and electronic filing services to individuals who make $72,000 or less per year. H&R Block stopped participating in the IRS Free File Program in 2020.
