Summary
The AFSP (Annual Filing Season Program) is a voluntary program offered by the IRS. In order to obtain an AFSP - Record of Completion, tax preparers are required to have an active PTIN, complete continuing education, and the Annual Federal Tax Refresher (AFTR) course and test (if required). All continuing education must be completed by December 31, 2015.

Don't forget, starting in 2016 you must receive the AFSP - Record of Completion or receive another professional credential to continue to represent your clients before the IRS for returns prepared and signed after December 31, 2015. For more information, click here.
