Congress Passes AMT Patch Legislation - TMI Responds With Instant Coverage!

MINNETONKA, MN - December 19th, 2007. For the second year in a row, printing and shipping operations were halted at Tax Materials, Inc., publishers of TheTaxBook, to allow editors time to insert a What's New Supplement - Late Breaking News! into all books that have not yet been shipped.

The subject, once again, is last minute tax law changes passed by Congress. This time it is a last minute AMT "Patch" designed to prevent some 20 million taxpayers from being subject to the Alternative Minimum Tax.

"We felt that stopping the presses to get this news inserted into our books was worth the extra time and expense," said Brad Imsdahl, Executive Editor and co-author for TheTaxBook. "We promised we would have all tax law changes through December 1, 2007 covered in our books this year. We did that, sent our final copy to print the first week of December, and started shipping books on our December 15th scheduled ship date. Then just 4 days into our busy shipping season, Congress passed this important piece of legislation, which affects millions of taxpayers. We decided this was too important to ignore."

Stopping the press to insert late breaking news is nothing new for TheTaxBook. Last year on December 9, 2006, Congress passed the Tax Relief and Health Care Act of 2006, which extended the Tuition and Fees deduction, the Sales Tax deduction, and other important provisions affecting millions of taxpayers. Printing and shipping operations were halted as a What's New Supplement covering the new law was added to the first few pages of the book. TheTaxBook turned out to be the only publication of its kind to include coverage of the new law for the 2006 filing season.

The What's New Supplement - Late Breaking News! for 2007, is provided free of charge to customers who have already received their books prior to the tax law change. To access the supplement, click on the link below:
