MINNETONKA, MN - Bradley J. Imsdahl, Paul Roberts, Nancy Parker, Louise McLaughlin, and Herb Weiner have joined Tax Materials, Inc., to create a new line of printed tax publications. This lineup of authors represents a powerhouse of talent with prior success in producing one of the largest-selling tax publications in history. The new products will be published under the name TheTaxBook.

Bradley J. Imsdahl, an Enrolled Agent, was the lead editor and author for the Quickfinder Handbooks from 1988 until December of 2003, at which time Practitioners Publishing Company (PPC) acquired Quickfinder. Imsdahl was retained by PPC as Executive Editor and had primary editorial responsibility for the core line of Quickfinder products, a position he held until he resigned from PPC in February of 2005.

Paul Roberts, an Enrolled Agent, also wrote for the Quickfinder Handbooks from 1994 until February of 2005, at which time he resigned from PPC to join the new company. Roberts' credentials include lead author for the Small Business Quickfinder Handbook from 1996 until 2004, and co-author for the All-States Quickfinder Handbook, first released in 2001.

Nancy Parker, an Enrolled Agent, was an author for the Quickfinder Handbooks from 1997 through 2004, and had primary responsibility for creating the first All States Quickfinder Handbook in 2001. In May of 2005, Parker separated from PPC and joined Tax Materials, Inc.

Louise McLaughlin, an attorney who operates her own tax practice, was the primary author of sections dealing with estates and trusts for the Quickfinder Handbooks from 1996 to 2003.

Herb Weiner, CPA, wrote for the Quickfinder Handbooks from 2002 through 2004, with emphasis on retirement planning. In June of 2005, Weiner separated from PPC and joined Tax Materials, Inc.

Imsdahl, Roberts, Parker, McLaughlin and Weiner represent the entire editorial staff in place at the time PPC acquired Quickfinder in December of 2003.

"It's great to see the entire editorial staff back together again," Imsdahl said. "As a team we produced a line of products that many tax professionals said was best on the market. We hit the ground running with this new project. With the experience that we've gained over the years, and the energy that comes from starting fresh, we have all kinds of new ideas that will raise the bar in the tax reference book industry."

Imsdahl also noted that TheTaxBook will be written by practicing tax professionals. "Many tax publications are written by people who stop practicing to work for the publishing company. They lose perspective on what it's like sitting across from real clients with real questions. All of our authors are required to prepare taxes during tax season. We know what kind of questions tax preparers are hit with because we do what they do, prepare tax returns for clients. I believe that is why we succeeded in the past, and why our new books will be popular with tax professionals."
